About Core

Welcome to Core Post. Make yourself at home in our spacious Post Production Facility situated just across the road from MediaCityUK in Salford. Our relaxed atmosphere and welcoming surroundings provide a perfect location for all aspects of Post Production. Our aim is to always provide you with the best tools and talent to ensure your project is finished to the highest possible standard and within your budget.

Offline

Our Offline editing facility consists of 14 Offline suites and can be scaled to handle any size of project. All suites run Avid Media Composer and are connected via Avid Nexis storage. The suites are all light and airy and have windows so you can keep an eye on the amazing Salford weather.

Online

2 Avid Symphony suites with advanced colour correction, Boris Continuum effects and filters, and Adobe Creative Suite.

Grade

From set to screen, our experienced colourist works with you to develop the perfect look for your production. With a spacious client-friendly DaVinci grading suite, featuring the Resolve Advanced Panel and utilising the latest hardware, we can provide the highest quality HD and 4K HDR picture finishing.

DaVinci Resolve or Avid Symphony are available, so there is a grade solution to fit every budget and project type.

Audio

Dub 1 and 2 are 5.1 theatres with Avid 32 fader D-­Control surfaces, whilst Dub 3 is a smaller prep/mix room, tracklay rooms are also available. We have a large ADR (solo and group) studio and we can offer location ADR and Remote Voice Over via ISDN or Source Connect.

Managing Director and Senior Online Editor

Matt is one of the co-owners of Core. His extensive cv is primarily filled with high end online and grade work for all genres, and also includes offline editing on drama, documentary and music promos. Having regular experience of taking a programme from its first stages to its last, Matt is well equipped in dealing with any edit issues that arise.

Technical Director and Senior Dubbing Mixer

Tony is one of the co-owners of Core and has over 30 years in the industry, he has a wealth of experience across all types of programme. Tony won an RTS North West award for Best Post Production (craft) for the sound on Young Dracula (CBBC) and has been the major driving force in nurturing some of the best dubbing talent across Media City.

Kate has over 25 years of experience working in Finance, almost 20 of them in Post Production. As one of the co-owners, Kate deals with all matters for the Company, including general finance, and is involved in all projects from the initial quoting process to keeping our clients up to date with their costs as each job progresses.

Lucy is tasked with the day to day management of the facility and is responsible for guiding each project through its post production process. From taking the initial booking, to delivering the final master, Lucy will ensure your project has the personal attention it deserves.

Front of House Co-ordinator

Sarah is the first person you will meet when you enter the facility and looks after our clients during their time at Core, managing all general requests that come through reception.

She is key to looking after the day to day running of the facility and strives to provide the best client experience, whilst supporting the rest of the Core team.

Having worked in the industry for nine years prior to joining Core, she is fully conversant in all aspects of Post Production.

Emily was the Winner of the Conch Award for Best Newcomer in 2009 and since then has continued to develop her skills across different aspects of Audio Post Production. With her increasing experience across all genres, Emily has flourished and is now one of Media City’s stand out Dubbing Mixers.

Craig co-ordinates all projects in a technical capacity and manages the safe handling and back up of all rushes. He liaises closely with clients at the production stage to ensure the best possible workflow is devised and then executed, and is also on hand for troubleshooting along the way.

From the initial quoting process through to delivery of the finished master, we involve members of each relevant department to make sure we provide the most cost effective and efficient workflow, and are happy to guide each project through to its completion. You can be sure of dedicated and personal attention throughout your time with us.

We collaborate with other facilities and service providers to offer the best overall package, as well as regularly having members of our team booked for clients within other Post Production Houses.
As well as the facility and team at Core, we are also able to offer flexible production and office space along with onsite parking, so if your project requires a North West base this is definitely something we could help with.

Our team of support staff work closely with our clients every step of the way from pre-production and planning, right through to finishing and delivery. By ensuring our clients have the best workflow, talent and equipment at their disposal, we make sure that your programme hits the screen with maximum impact and at the highest standard. Your budget is utilised in achieving the most important end result, a quality product for your target audience.  From web, television through to cinema, we deal with every type of professional media format, but we live in a fast-moving digital age where new codecs, hardware systems and workflows come to light every month. Because of this we are actively involved with major vendors and manufacturers to ensure even the most complex of workflows run as smoothly and efficiently as possible. We use the latest Avid Nexis for edit storage, nearline backup and unlimited deep archive to ensure your content is as safe as is possible.

Whether offlining a commercial, editing a documentary or fine cutting a drama, you can be sure that we will support you every step of the way. All of our Avid Media Composer suites have natural light and are individually air conditioned to make your time with us as comfortable as possible. Our edit systems are equipped with the latest hardware and connected to our Avid shared storage, providing project and media security. Should you be editing on location, we can provide edit suites, storage and support during this stage of your production. We regularly update our software to ensure we can work with the latest cameras without a problem, and our technical team will be on hand to ensure that all your media is ingested as quickly and smoothly as possible.

 

Core can deliver a seamless online and grade.

Our experienced online editors will ensure your programme or content is technically perfected to the highest standard. With 2 Media Composer Symphony suites, Core can deliver a seamless online and Symphony grade.  Alternatively you can grade in our Davinci Resolve suite. Our staff Colourist has experience with all genres of programming and will help you achieve the look you want for your programme, whether it be a commercial, documentary or a drama. Our in-house Online department has great experience in ensuring programmes pass tech reviews for all major Worldwide Broadcasters. Adhering to the latest UK DPP requirements, we’re also onboarded with major broadcasters such as BBC, ITV, Channel 4, Channel 5, NBC & Sky, and are now fully proficient in delivering  AS11 content with full AQC and PSE passes. Your work is delivered direct to the broadcaster using military-grade secure servers via super-fast, uncontended Fibre connectivity.

 

In addition to our sound mix and editorial services we also provide full ADR and V/O facilities.

 Our three sound studios offer Pro Tools HD and ICON mixing consoles for stereo and 5.1. We have a large voice over booth which is spacious enough to accommodate multi talent sessions and ADR. The success of our audio team is testament to the ability of our sound team who record, mix, and design sound across many short and longform genres. In addition to our sound mix and editing services we also provide full ADR and V/O facilities. Our talented team of ADR recordists are extremely efficient and will help ensure that all session runs smoothly. Domestic and global connectivity is provided via ISDN or Source Connect. Recent ADR work includes, Downton Abbey, The Musketeers, Cuffs, From Darkness, Mount Pleasant, Mr Selfridge, Lewis, Maigret, Jericho, Silent Witness.
 

Located just 2 minutes from the BBC and ITV.

We have a range of flexible office space available in varying sizes, including a large production office which can accommodate up to 12 people and costume department facilities including washer and dryer. So if you are a one man band or a larger team, and need a long term or temporary production base, we can provide these options. We are located just 2 minutes from the BBC and ITV and have the huge benefit of onsite parking available.
